The leadership at BALCONY are rolling up our sleeves and gearing up our bikes for the 2014 American Diabetes Association's NYC Tour de Cure on Saturday, May 10, and we would like you and your organization to stand strong with us!

The NYC Tour de Cure starts and finishes at scenic Pier 84 along NYC's Hudson River, adjacent to the U.S. Intrepid at W. 43rd Street with routes that include a family-friendly seven miler, 20 miles, 45 miles, 62.5 miles and a Century ride of 100 miles for the more experienced riders.   Enjoy a catered lunch, live entertainment, a complimentary massage and lots of exciting extras at our Finish Line Festival.

Tour de Cure is an individual, friends & family and corporate team-building activity that has all of us cycling together to raise funds for the Greater New York community to fund medical research, community outreach programs and legislative advocacy initiatives reinforcing the American Diabetes Association's mission: to prevent and cure diabetes, and improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

The first 50 BALCONY members registered who make a personal donation of $26.00 will receive a Stop Diabetes Cinch Bag, and you can show your concern about this important cause that impacts the health of Greater New York residents.

You don't have to ride alone, you can form a corporate, friends and family, and clubs and organization team via the website as well to build camaraderie and enjoy a day of fun!

Each rider must raise a minimum of $200 to participate in the NYC Tour de Cure and when you register at www.diabetes.org/nyctourdecure, you will have access to a user friendly fundraising system that allows you to reach out to your friends, family members, neighbors and co-workers to secure their donations.

To answer any of your questions, please contact Geneva Humdy, Associate Director of the NYC Tour de Cure at (212) 725-4915 Ext. 3428 or ghumdy@diabetes.org, and mention that you are a BALCONY member.

Spring is here and we are looking forward to BALCONY members being represented at the NYC Tour de Cure on Saturday, May 10th.
