BALCONY’S Mission

BALCONY, the Business and Labor Coalition of New York, is committed to finding common ground between business and labor.

We are concerned about the ability of our families to find jobs, the ability of businesses to thrive in our diverse and ever-changing economy, the ability of homeowners to afford property taxes, the ability of our schools to teach our children and prepare them for our collective future, the ability of companies to afford health care, workers’ compensation and insurance benefits for their employees, and the ability of our state to fund programs necessary to provide a healthy and vibrant economy for New York.

We are not here as Democrats, we are not here as Republicans, we have no partisan agenda. We are New Yorkers, one and all, concerned about the future of our great state.

BALCONY’S Work

BALCONY’s members believe that never-ending partisan wars have sapped New York State of its premier role: creating an economy that can benefit all New Yorkers. We intend to present a fresh approach, outlining practical, realizable projects to help both business and labor contribute to renewed strength and economic vitality in our great state.

BALCONY has the expertise to sound public opinion on a variety of issues, research these issues, and communicate our position to the public and opinion leaders. We are also well-positioned to lobby the legislature, present expert testimony, and advocate for our position.
