A Special BALCONY Photo Essay by Diane M. Specht

On August 31, 2011, Brian Simon, Director of Government Relations of the
Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, led a limited contingent
of BALCONY members on a tour of the World Trade Center Site.

We visited the construction site; the Memorial Plaza;
both the north and south reflecting pools which are the exact footprint of where the towers stood;
the 1 World Trade Center Tower 31st and 71st floors; and the construction workers.

We met at the Port Authority office at 115 Broadway in Manhattan and proceeded on the tour.

The following photo essay provides some interesting and poignant perspectives of the
soon-to-be-unveiled World Trade Center site.
